"Saints Like Me" Board Books Feature Lives of Black and Latino Saints

I keep reminding myself that diversity is Catholic. It always has been. The very idea of inclusiveness was introduced by Christianity. Our Church's very name is "Catholic."
Catholic
adjective
broad or wide-ranging in tastes, interests, or the like; having sympathies with all; broad-minded; liberal.
universal in extent; involving all; of interest to all.
pertaining to the whole Christian body or church.
I am happy to introduce a new series of board books by Catholic Sprouts which celebrate the Church's diversity: Saints Like Me. So far two volumes have been published: Great Black Saints and Great Latino Saints which also comes in a Spanish edition, Santos Como Yo.
Great Asian Saints is coming soon.
The Saints Like Me series was conceived to introduce all Catholic children to Saints of their own color. At the same time, kids can get to know Saints of other races. Young readers will meet famous and little-known, holy Catholics. Some are venerable, others are blessed or canonized. They have been chosen from different ages and places. Kids will experience all the glorious catholicity of the Church. I love that each book includes an apparition of Our Lady in the same race as the featured Saints. Our Blessed Mother likes to appear to her children with a familiar face.
Each Saint is introduced in a short biography, with a simple outline map and a short commentary discussing a particular virtue to be learned from the featured Saint. This information makes these books appealing beyond toddler age., up to age ten.
The books are currently on sale for $11.00.
